Getting Started Get Suppport

Thank you for choosing to use DistinctiveThemes. We hope you like your template and this documentation should help you get started and set up with your latest project. Please use this documentation to familiarise yourself with the template and should you find a particular subjuct is not cover please do get in touch.

This documentation assumes you have at least a basic familiarity of how WordPress works, how to add posts, images etc - if you are a total beginner, I would suggest you visit the awesome WordPress codex which will help bring you up to speed.

Uploading The Theme

Unzip The Full Package

When you purchased the theme, the file you downloaded is a zip containing the theme, as well as an offline copy of this documentation. To begin, unzip this file to gain access to the theme and its relevant files.

Locate The Theme Itself

Once you have unzipped the package, locate the theme itself - this is the file you will need to upload to WP (if using the dashboard anyway).

Upload The Theme

From you WordPress dashboard, head to Themes > Install > Upload and from the file browser, locate the theme from the previous steps and start uploading. Please allow a few mins for the theme to fully upload.

Activate The Theme

Once the theme has finsihed uploading, you can activate it via the Themes page in your dashboard.

Additional Plugins

Install Recommended Plugins

Once the theme is activated, please be sure to install the recommeneded plugins as shown in the message in your dashboard to make the most of your new theme.
The theme is supplied with our powerful DTPanel options panel, which provides an easy to use and intuitive interface for taking control of Eivissa. Below is a brief explaination of what options are available and how to use them.

General Options

Custom Favicon

The theme is supplied with our powerful DTPanel options panel, which provides an easy to use and intuitive interface for taking control of Eivissa. Below is a brief explaination of what options are available and how to use them.

Header Settings

Logo

Use the areas provided to enter either logo text, or to upload your own logo image using the upload box (this will override the logo text).

Home Section

This allows you to control the main home area, which is displayed in all pages. You can upload your own welcome image, as well as enter your own HTML for the welcome text. Also this area allows you to control and modify the button displayed and the url or area it links to.

Footer Options

Social Profiles

These options allow you to enter URLs for your social profiles, to disable an icon, simply remove any url and it will not be shown on the front-end.

Copyright Text

Here you can enter your own HTML for the copyright section.

Styling Options

Background Slider Images

You can add as many background slider images as you wish using DT Panel, simply upload an image for it to display and to add more images simply hit the ADD NEW SLIDE button.

Theme Stylesheet

Here you can select a base scheme for the theme.

Body Accent Color

Simply use the colour picker provided to add a splash of your favourite colour throughout the theme.

Adding Home Page Section

Adding different section to the home page is much like adding a regular wordpress post - just head to the Home Section post type from within your dashboard to begin.

Filling In The Details

You can add whatever content you wish, using the wordpress editor you can add your own stuff or even display various posts and other elements via the inbuilt shortcodes

Section Options

If you are using a section to display shortcodes with and intro and title, you may wish to disable display of the default section title by disabling the checkbox for the title - this will stop the main title being displayed. You can also select what style of background to use for the section

Adding Sections To The Menu

When adding home sections to the menu, you simply need to enter the SLUG of the section you have made (as seen in picture 2) prefixed with a # - for example if you create a section called TEST SECTION ONE, to add it to the menu youve would enter in the URL field #test-section-one.

Dont forget to re-order the sections the same as the order of the menu items - just for ease of use to your visitors.

DistinctiveThemes Shortcodes

When creating pages, posts or sections you can use the simple button in the WP editor to select what element to display. When a shortcode is selected it will be added to the wysiwyg editor for you and is setup to show you the various options each shortcode has by way of dummy content - just edit this to suit your needs.

Adding Team Members

Adding a new team member is much like adding a regular wordpress post - just head to the Team post type from within your dashboard to begin.

Filling In The Details

You will need to fill in the relevant boxes to display a team members details. From the add new team memeber screen you can enter a name (title), a description for the member, their position, as well as the memebers social profile details.

Adding Portfolio Items

Adding a new portfolio item is much like adding a regular wordpress post - just head to the Portfolio post type from within your dashboard to begin.

Adding Additional Images

Simply hit the Upload button to start adding/uploading additional images for each portfolio item. You can add a total of 20 images per portfolio item.

Adding Testimonials

Adding a new testimonial is much like adding a regular wordpress post - just head to the Portfolio post type from within your dashboard to begin.

Filling In The Details

Simply fill in the name, the the quote for the testimonial.
